... this uses the last of my delicious chilli vegetable stew as a base, plus i've got to say, with my stew already cooked, this meal took roughly 4 minutes to make... and tasted like heaven on earth!
- salt the fish, then simply pan fry the sea bass in some butter and olive oil skin side down for 1 and a half minutes until crispy, then turn over for 30 seconds... and serve...
eat and of course, enjoy!

Hello from SPAIN VIGO ... I love to learn different recipes as your own ... these are delicious, I love making your own bread is fantastic ... I will follow you and invite you to share my recipes and blog Marimi greetings ..
ReplyDeleteI am WITH your grandma there, and love her fishy saying! I DO like fish, but don't eat it enough either, and one of my favourites is sea bass, so this recipe has been saved for an evening of swimming and slimming with fish!
ReplyDeleteKaren
I love your grandmother's saying . . . genius! I think this recipe is a bit of a winner too :)
ReplyDeleteHa ha. Love your Grandma's saying. What a wise woman.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you in that we don't eat nearly enough fish. I really must remedy that- it's so good for you!
hello! haha funny, I LOVE fish. I don't have it that much in london because it's admittedly more expensive, so I usually only eat sardines and mackerel. i think that's what hugh was trying to get us to do- to turn towards more sustainable options instead of just cutting fish out totally. But anyway now that i'm in SIngapore, it's seafood HEAVEN plus my mum's pampering me with lots of fish- every day, almost every meal ;)
ReplyDeleteSea bass ...yum! Your Grandmother was quite right. Nothing beats great fish.
ReplyDeletehahaa oh grandma sylvia! I LIKE that! looks fabbo...I could dive right in :)
ReplyDeleteFour minutes--therein lies the reason to cook more fish. Oh, and they are healthy as well. There is a good movement here in the U.S. toward sustainable seafood. I was sorely disappointed not to have abalone while on a recent visit to San Francisco. Alas, it is now protected. Perhaps in the future, people will enjoy a bite.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the offer of shipping the "biscuits". The Baker found them in our regular grocery store!!
Best,
Bonnie
I have fish at least once a week. Love Sea Bass and your supper looks delicious.
ReplyDeleteSimple yet fantastic dish! Love your rustic kitchen, blends so well with the blue cabinet.....
ReplyDeleteNow this is my idea of dinner!!! And sea bass has got to be my fave fish at the mo too.
ReplyDeleteOh dear, I misread Grandma's quote, thought she said "if it swims it slimes". Have spent a long while trying to figure that one out, but just twigged. Oops. Lovely looking fish dish, slimy or not!
ReplyDeleteI don't cook nearly enough fish either. I'm try at the moment to feature more fish on my blog and therefore in my kitchen too. I cooked mussels for the first time last night, a recipe from Hugh's fish fight app.
ReplyDeleteSeabass has to be one of my favorite fish. Your recipe looks simple and delicious
You know Hugh's all but given up meat and fish?
ReplyDeleteLooks nice though.
'if it swims, it slims' - genius! Love the new kitchen - hope it was worth the wait.
ReplyDeleteNot in the least bit interested in fish, but I am in your kitchen. Can see from your banner that it must be finished, so off to check out the posts I've missed.
ReplyDeleteThe seabass looks divine - but wait - a new kitchen!! It looks beautiful!
